Robotic Surgery Research Fellowship

The division of Robotic General Surgery at Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking qualified individuals to apply for a funded 2 -year research fellowship position in the Department of Surgery, under the direction of Dr. Kudsi (Chair, department of surgery). The Fellowship position is expected to begin July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023.

The research fellow will work closely with robotic surgeons, a clinical robotic fellow and a senior researcher. An established infrastructure on robotic surgery research is already in place with a dedicated databank for robotic surgery. The fellow will spend two years conducting surgical outcome research. The fellow will be responsible for managing and updating the databank of clinical outcomes and patient reported outcomes.

In addition, the fellow will be trained in the development and coordination of clinical trials, preparation and submission of IRB proposals, grants and manuscripts for peer-review publication. Opportunities exist to collaborate with other departments and academic institutions as part of multi center studies and joint studies. The fellow will also be required to submit abstracts for presentation at national and international meetings. Clinical care is not part of the fellowship program. Recent fellows have published in journals such as Surgical Endoscopy and Hernia. This is an amazing opportunity to work and live in Greater Boston area.

Prerequisites:

Applicant must be US board certified or board eligible. Applicant must be able to obtain FULL Medical License in the State of Massachusetts. We are NOT able to provide any visas unfortunately.
