The Pediatric Pelvic Reconstruction Fellowship is a one-year program intended for candidates who received prior training in pediatric surgery, pediatric urology and/or pediatric gynecology but seek additional training in complex and rare procedures.
In April 2014, Nationwide Children’s Hospital formed The Center for Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction, one of the first centers in the world to formally integrate all specialties involved in providing complete care of the colon and rectum in kids. This environment provides a unique experience for Pelvic Reconstruction fellows, providing access to a large number of pediatric reconstruction cases: particularly reoperations and collaborative operations involving colorectal, urology and gynecology.
The enormous patient volume at Nationwide Children’s; the anticipated increase in volume of colorectal, urologic, gynecologic and reconstructive cases; the tremendous basic science, clinical, translational and outcomes research opportunities that exist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University; and the unique clinical services offered make Nationwide Children’s an ideal location to receive advanced pelvic reconstruction training.
