Academic Urgent Care Fellowship

Children’s National Hospital is delighted to announce that enrollment has opened for our Urgent Care Fellowship for the academic year 2021-2022 in Washington, D.C.

The fellowship is a one year program which prepares physicians for a career in pediatric urgent care medicine as excellent clinicians, administrators, academic thinkers and leaders in the field.

Fellows will achieve the goals and objectives of the program through:

• Caring for patients directly in emergency and urgent care settings
• Supervising other trainees including residents, physician assistants and medical students
• Completing a comprehensive curriculum that includes conferences, didactics, courses, and workshops with a strong focus on academic excellence and quality improvement.

We aim to produce well-trained, academic urgent care physicians who will be easily employable at the end of the fellowship in any urgent care setting.

Prerequisites:

The Urgent Care Fellowship offered by Children’s National Hospital is best suited to recent pediatric residency graduates or general pediatricians looking to work in a high acuity, fast-paced environment with an interest in academics.

Interested candidates must have completed an ACGME-approved residency in pediatrics and be board eligible/certified. Candidate must be able to obtain a Washington, D.C., medical license.
