Epilepsy Fellowship

The George Washington University Epilepsy fellowship is a one-year ACGME accredited epilepsy position with an optional second year of non ACGME accredited EEG fellowship to focus on research and polish epilepsy surgery skills. The GW comprehensive epilepsy center is a NAEC designated level IV epilepsy center located in the heart of the nation’s capital. The fellows gain structured clinical experience at GW University Hospital and Children’s National Medical Center.

We are highly committed to foster the development of well-rounded, competent clinical and academic epileptologists. Our fellows will optimize their skills in six ACGME core competencies: patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice to a level of independence appropriate to progress into a subspecialty epilepsy practice. Second year EEG fellowship will advance the fellow’s skills in research, epilepsy surgery and prepare them for an academic, research or teaching career in epilepsy.

Prerequisites:

Applicants interested in applying for the epilepsy fellowship should have completed an ACGME accredited neurology residency by the start of fellowship and should be board certified or board eligible.

Applicants interested in optional EEG fellowship should have completed or be enrolled in ACGME accredited epilepsy fellowship
