Bariatric Surgery Clinical Fellow

East Carolina University, Department of Surgery is offering a one-year Bariatric Surgery fellowship outside of the fellowship council match for start date August 1, 2020, with training taking place at Vidant Medical Center (VMC) in Greenville, NC. VMC is a state of North Carolina accredited, American College of Surgeons verified, and one of the busiest tertiary care academic medical centers in the country.

The chosen candidate will work directly with our Bariatric Surgery faculty members and will be responsible for weekly clinical assessments of bariatric patients and their pre-operative and post-operative care. The candidate will learn and accomplish minimally invasive techniques for patients who are candidates for laparoscopic and robotic bariatric surgery and assist with cases involving both open and laparoscopic bariatric surgery.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

Completion of a General Surgery Residency, MD or DO degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
