Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

The Department of Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at Broward Health offers a one-year ACGME accredited Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. We have two openings for incoming fellows to start on August 1, 2023.

Fellows will receive support and guidance to engage in clinical participation in Surgical Critical Care services, student and resident teaching, and research. We are committed to providing an environment that is supportive to our fellows, and clinically challenging, so that fellows can fulfill their highest potential during their 12 months of training.

Clinical rotations will take place at our ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center, Broward Health Medical Center, and Level 2 Trauma Center, Broward Health North. Our trauma centers in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Deerfield Beach, FL, care for over 5,000 patients per year.

Fellows will have the opportunity to rotate in the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Units at both trauma centers. In addition to clinical experiences, Fellows will have opportunities to participate in research throughout the year, as well as administrative experiences. Elective rotations include but are not limited to Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Trauma Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery, and Emergency General Surgery.

Prerequisites:

Completion of at least three years in an ACGME accredited training program in General Surgery is required.

Broward Health does not sponsor any VISAs.
