Preventive Cardiology Fellowship

The Preventive Cardiology Fellowship at Saint Luke's Hospital is an accredited, one-year training program.

Program description

Fellows receive training in the medical therapy of atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. This includes:

  • Risk assessment
  • Lipidology
  • Exercise physiology
  • Hypertension management
  • Psychosocial screening and behavioral counseling
  • Design, implementation, and analysis of preventive cardiology research projects

Prerequisites:

To enter the preventive cardiology program, you must:

  • Be a licensed MD or DO
  • Have completed two or three years in cardiology subspecialty training

OR

  • Be an internal medicine physician
  • Have other qualifications such as a PhD in exercise physiology, advanced training in nutrition, diabetology, or hypertension
