The Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine Fellowship Program impacts many patients, from trauma to obstetrics and gynecology, cancer care patients and more. The University of Miami/Jackson Health System comprises a state-of-the-art academic medical center that serves the vibrant, culturally diverse South Florida community, as well as many international patients from the Caribbean, Central and South America, and beyond. Blood banking/transfusion activities for fellows span the University of Miami network of hospitals and clinics (UHealth) and the flagship county hospital of Miami-Dade County, Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Medical Licensing Examination:
All applicants must successfully complete United States Medical Licensing Examination Steps 1, 2 and 3 prior to the start of the program.
There is postgraduate training required in the form of a successfully completed ACGME-accredited residency in anesthesiology; clinical pathology, combined anatomic/clinical pathology; internal medicine; pediatrics or surgery.
