Hematopathology Fellowship

Hematopathology Fellowship

The Stanford Hematopathology Fellowship includes broad experience in neoplastic and non-neoplastic hematopathology diagnosis, incorporation of state of the art ancillary studies for diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic targets, clinical collaboration with world leaders in hematology and oncology, and numerous opportunities for clinical and translational research. We serve a broad patient base at Stanford Health and Stanford Children’s Health, and also see cases submitted in consultation by pathologists and/or oncologists from many parts of the United States and abroad.

Fellows gain extensive experience in diagnosis of a variety of neoplastic and non-neoplastic lymph node and bone marrow conditions, including the integrated use of immunohistochemical, flow cytometry, cytogenetic and molecular ancillary studies. Fellows also gain experience in evaluation of both routine and rare coagulation and red cell disorders.

Fellow rotations include the hematopathology consultation service, the bone marrow and flow cytometry service, molecular pathology and cytogenetics, coagulation and red blood cell special studies, and elective time which may be devoted to additional clinical experience or to research.
