Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy Fellowship

The goal of the Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy (BMTCT) Fellowship at Children’s National Hospital is to provide well-rounded clinical and laboratory training for fellows interested in transplant and cellular therapy.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Children’s National Hospital (CNH) are now recruiting candidates for a one-year fellowship. The overall objective is to give BMTCT fellows extensive experience in clinical management by being assigned primary patients, and following them from initial consult and eligibility criteria through their inpatient and outpatient management.

Fellows will also gain valuable experience by functioning as medical coverage and, eventually, providing primary oversight over the BMT unit patients. They will work within an interdisciplinary team that consists of a BMT faculty member, hematology/oncology fellows, subspecialist consultants, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pediatric house staff, medical students, inpatient nurses, social work, psychology, case manager, nutritionist and other members of the inpatient and outpatient health care teams.

Prerequisites:

Ideal applicants will need to have:

• Completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology
• Completed board-certification or be eligible
• Been involved with a research track demonstrating interest in BMTCT-associated themes
