Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Research Fellowship

The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard Medical School is looking for 2 postdoctoral research fellows starting July 1, 2023. A one-year commitment is required but two years is preferred.

The goals and objectives for the research fellowship are for fellows to gain experience in both clinical and basic science research. The principal investigator will be Samuel J. Lin, MD, MBA with the potential to work with other faculty. Primary research projects consist of surgical outcomes using institutional and national databases, cost and utility studies, as well as translational/basic science projects in the form of biomaterials and noninvasive technologies to assess tissue perfusion. Research fellows are expected to work on between 10-20 projects/year. Outside of their research duties, research fellows are expected to attend weekly plastic surgery conferences and lab meetings, with opportunities to attend local, national, and international meetings. These meetings will be funded during the time of the fellowship.

Prerequisites:

The ideal candidate is a surgery resident currently in their second or third year of surgical training at an ACGME accredited program, but other candidates are welcome to apply.
