Mechanical Circulatory & Cardiac Transplantation Fellowship

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine, Saint Louis is accepting advanced surgical fellowship application for Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program.

The heart failure surgery program performs annually about 40-50 heart transplants, 40-50 Durable LVADs, more than 200 temporary mechanical support devices/ ECMO and low EF conventional coronary and valve surgery. Apart from these surgeries, fellows will be involved in perioperative care, multidisciplinary team management with heart failure cardiology. There will be encouragement and support for outcome based research activity.

This is a one year fellowship program starting July 1, 2023.

Prerequisites:

  • Completion of ACGME or equivalent Cardiothoracic Surgery training program before starting the advanced fellowship.
  • Board certification from ABTS or board eligibility or board equivalent
  • For Foreign graduates, ECFMG certification, USMLE step I, II, III transcripts
