Pediatric Surgery Basic/Translational Research Fellowship

Pediatric Surgery Basic/Translational Research Fellowship

The Olutoye laboratory at Nationwide Children's Hospital is looking for a 2 year postdoctoral research fellow to start on July 1, 2023.

Our lab focuses on developing animal models to study fetal anomalies and testing new innovative therapies to correct those anomalies in-utero. The lab uses several models including a swine model of necrotizing enterocolitis and an ovine model of lower urinary tract obstruction. Additional studies are focused on early predictors and preventative therapies of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), anesthetic neurotoxicity, and wound healing.

Prior research experience is not required. General surgery residents interested in a career in pediatric surgery are encouraged to apply. Trainees will work under the mentorship of Dr. Oluyinka Olutoye, Surgeon-In-Chief and Chair of Pediatric Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, with the potential to work with other faculty.
