The Clinical Translational Fellowship at Pfizer provides a unique opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible physician scientist, trained in neurology or psychiatry, to spend a period of up to two years working with the Pfizer Neuroscience Research Unit (NSRU) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and performing clinical activities at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. The recipient of this fellowship will have an opportunity to work on different projects as a member of the Pfizer Computational Neuromedicine and Human Biology team, which helps to bridge the Pre-Clinical Science and Clinical Development teams. The fellow will also be trained in translational medicine and pharmaceutical industry drug development in preparation for a future role as an industry clinical research leader or academic clinical researcher. Applicants with solid computational backgrounds will be highly suited for this fellowship. Prior experience in drug development/translational research is not required.
The clinician-scientists are selected by a joint Pfizer-Mass General search committee and employed by the Department of Neurology or Department of Psychiatry at Mass General. There is a 75% protected time commitment to the Pfizer NSRU and a 25% commitment to clinical activities at Mass General within the Department of Neurology or Psychiatry.
The program provides up to $75,000 annual salary support plus benefits. The awardee may receive additional support for course tuition, travel and supplies.
