Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship

The Department of Radiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center offers a one-year clinical fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging.

The fellowship provides advanced clinical training in diagnostic and interventional procedures including:

• Radiography
• Computerized tomography (CT)
• Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging
• Image-guided biopsies and therapies

The cardiothoracic imaging section provides interpretation of radiographic, computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) of the thorax. These inpatient and outpatient services address, but are not limited to, the screening and focused analysis of the wide variety of diseases affecting the hearts and lungs.

Prerequisites:

Minimum qualifications for the fellowship include successful completion of a diagnostic radiology residency and the ability to obtain a license to practice medicine in North Carolina.

1. Complete the Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship Application.
2. Send completed applications, letters of recommendation and supporting documents to Janardhana Ponnatapura, MD.

Required Documentation

As part of the application process, prospective fellows will need to submit the following documents in addition to the application:

• Curriculum vitae
• Personal statement or letter of interest explaining career choices and goals
• Letter of recommendation from radiology residency program director
• Dean's letter from medical school
• Two additional letters of recommendation
• Photograph (optional, for identification)
• ECFMG certification (foreign medical graduates only)
