Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship

Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital has an unfilled slot in our 3 year ACGME accredited fellowship program to begin July 2023. This is a dynamic program that prepares a fellow with excellent clinical training, strong research experience, teaching skills and advocacy experience.

Program strengths include:

1. robust experiences in research, quality improvement, and advocacy;
2. depth and breadth of clinical experiences with exposure to multiple care models and strong patient continuity experience;
3. supportive faculty committed to fellows’ success;
4. Collaborative environment as we are located in the NeuroDevelopmental Science Center along with Pediatric Neurology, Physiatry, NeuroPsychology, and Pediatric Neurosurgery thus allowing regular and easy interaction with multiple disciplines.

Our fellows are able to participate in the MPH program through Northeast Ohio Medical University. Fellows receive training in and are certified in Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), an evidence-based behavior management program. Recent fellows’ research interests have included effect of media exposure on social-emotional development and use of technology to improve training in care of children with developmental behavioral challenges.

We are located near Cuyahoga Valley National Park and have easy access to many different outdoor opportunities as well as access to professional and college sports. A little know fact is that Newsweek (10-21-21) ranks Akron Children’s Hospital 16th among pediatric hospitals in the US.
