Acute Care Fellowship

Children’s National Hospital is delighted to announce that enrollment has opened for our Acute Care Fellowship for the academic year July 2023 - June 2024 in Washington, D.C.

The fellowship is designed for clinicians who desire additional clinical and procedural training before practicing in academic or community emergency and acute care settings. We aim to prepare physicians for a career as excellent clinicians, as well as leaders in acute care medicine.

Fellows will achieve the goals and objectives of the program through:

• Caring for patients directly in emergency department and Fast Track settings
• Working alongside pediatric emergency medicine and clinical pediatrician colleagues
• Supervising other trainees
• Completing a comprehensive curriculum that includes conferences, didactics, courses, simulation sessions and workshops with a strong focus on academic excellence

Prerequisites:

The Acute Care Fellowship offered by Children’s National Hospital is best suited for recent pediatric residency graduates or general pediatricians looking to improve their clinical skills and work in a fast-paced, academic environment.

Interested candidates must have completed an ACGME-approved residency in pediatrics and be board eligible or certified. Candidates must be able to obtain a Washington, D.C., medical license.

• Cover letter
• Three letters of recommendation. If you graduated residency in the past two years, one of these letters should be from your program director.

Recruitment for the Acute Care Fellowship starts in September. The application deadline is March 1, 2023.
