Family Medicine Residency

The Carle Foundation Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program is a community based program in 453 bed tertiary care hospital featuring:

• Level I Trauma Center
• Level III Perinatal services
• Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Carle Cancer Institute
• Carle Heart and Vascular Institute

We are equipped with tremendous resources and research opportunities. Our program is technologically advanced with a fully integrated inpatient/outpatient Electronic Medical Record (Epic), a Simulation Lab and digital resources at your fingertips.

Prerequisites:

• Must be a graduate of LCME or COCA accredited colleges of medicine or their equivalent.
• No more than three years have elapsed between initiation of residency training and graduation from medical school, previous residency training experience, or active practice.
• A total of three letters of recommendation are required; one of which must be from a Family Medicine physician and one directly affiliated with the sending medical school.
• We currently do not sponsor resident applications that require H1b visa status.
• An applicant must possess excellent skills in both verbal and written English.

How To Apply:

• Only complete applications will be considered for interview. A complete application will include the following:
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Personal Statement
  • Physical Exam and results for Level 1 of COMLEX/USMLE. Availability of final results for Level 2 COMLEX/USMLE is encouraged and highly preferred for interview consideration.
