Body Imaging Fellowship

Body Imaging Fellowship

Jackson Memorial Hospital offers a one-year body imaging fellowship funded by the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Miami. The fellowship includes both disease-based and modality-based training and provides a wealth of experience in body computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as ultrasound, with elective time. This training program will expose fellows to the most challenging pathology, as well as the opportunity to work in one of the largest transplant centers in South Florida and second largest in the nation – the Miami Transplant Institute (a joint program between Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine).

Our program follows the Precision Medicine Initiative, taking into account every patient’s individuality: variability in genes, environment and lifestyle. This method to patient care is particularly important to teach our fellows and emerging radiologists as it will allow doctors and researchers to predict more accurately which course of action to take in the treatment and prevention of certain diseases.

In addition to a rich clinical experience, fellows are provided with opportunities to teach residents and medical students and participate in journal club and weekly conferences, including multidisciplinary clinical conferences with renowned faculty. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate with faculty in clinical research projects, engage in research activities for the assessment of new medications and will play an important role in the cancer staging and treatment planning alongside oncologists and surgeons.
