The purpose of this residency is to prepare the trainee with the necessary skills to excel as an Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacy Specialist. Throughout the year, the resident will have opportunities for exposure in a variety of practice environments, including Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infectious Diseases consult, and Hepatitis C/HIV clinic.
The resident will gain experience with management for commonly encountered infectious disease states. The resident will also be actively involved with formulary management of antimicrobials in addition to implementation and assessment of antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. Furthermore, the resident will have opportunities to assist with the training and education of pharmacy students and PGY-1 Pharmacy Residents.
The resident will be required to be licensed in Indiana.
