Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship

The Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship is designed to expand and refine the specialized skills and clinical expertise that physician assistants and nurse practitioners need to excel in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department.

Led by faculty and staff in NYU Langone’s Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine, our 18-month program includes clinical and didactic instruction, with additional emphasis on trauma, stroke, cardiology, pediatrics, intensive care, and observation medicine. The academic environment at NYU Langone extends throughout the boroughs of New York City, creating rich and diverse learning experiences.

Prerequisites:

Qualified applicants for the physician assistant class must meet the following criteria before enrolling in the program:

  • graduation from a physician assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant
  • a bachelor’s degree with pre-med requisites
  • board certification granted by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • New York State license
  • Drug Enforcement Administration licensure (pending employment)
  • current basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, and pediatric advanced life support certification

How To Apply:

A complete application package for either class includes receipt of your online application and electronic submission of the following materials:

  • official transcripts from all colleges/universities and from your physician assistant or nurse practitioner program submitted electronically by a registrar to [email protected]
  • CV
  • personal statement
  • three professional letters of recommendation emailed directly by the letter writer to [email protected], with the applicant’s name in the title of the email
