Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship Position

This unique program offers outstanding clinical training and research opportunities in infectious diseases, vaccine development, clinical trials, and public health. The clinical training takes place at the University of Maryland Children's Hospital, a large tertiary level referral hospital with all pediatric and surgical sub-specialty services.

Faculty members are committed to education and professional development of the fellows. We offer outstanding opportunities for research in vaccine development and international health. The CVD is an international leader in the development and evaluation of vaccines, with a focus on diseases that have the greatest burden among children in low and middle-income countries. Research ranges from basic pathogenesis, vaccine development and immunology, to epidemiology, clinical trials and public health in domestic and international settings.

Prerequisites:

This fellowship is open to individuals who have successfully completed a pediatric residency program. Fellows who have completed one year of clinical training elsewhere and still need to fulfill their research requirements may also apply.

Requirements:

1. Completed ERAS application form
2. Curriculum vitae
3. Personal statement
4. Letters of recommendation (3-4) from faculty of your current training program
5. Pre-employment physical is required and includes proof of vaccination
6. Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
7. Medical school transcript
8. Complete USLME transcript and ECFMG Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA)
9. Pediatric In-Training Exam scores if available
10. US citizenship or Green Card is required. Fellows can be sponsored under the J-1 visa program
