The General Surgery Residency Program at The University of Arizona (Tucson) has an ACGME accredited training position available at the PGY3 level beginning July 1, 2023.


US clinical training in an ACGME accredited general surgery residency training program. Resident must be in good standing.

International Medical Graduates:

Must have a valid ECFMG certificate (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). We only sponsor J1

  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Diploma and Transcript
  • ABSITE scores and reports for ALL years completed (including January 2023)
  • Three (3) current Letters of Recommendation, including a letter from the current Program Director.
  • Competency-Based Evaluations for ALL completed rotations
  • Clinical Competency Committee evaluations
  • Current ACGME case log, including the “Defined Category” Operative Report

ONLY complete applications, containing all documents listed above, will be considered/reviewed. Applicants considered competitive for the position will be invited for a virtual interview. No phone calls or pop in visits.
