Pediatric Colorectal Surgery Fellowship

Pediatric Colorectal Surgery Fellowship

The global objective of the colorectal pediatric surgery surgery fellowship program is to teach our fellows the skills necessary to treat patients with congenital colorectal conditions such as Anorectal Malformation, Cloaca, Cloacal Exstrophy, Hirschsprung, Idiopathic Constipation, and Fecal Incontinence. The schedule for the fellowship is designed to achieve this global objective, while at the same time permitting enough flexibility within the program to accommodate the desire of the resident to focus on a other areas, such as general pediatric surgery, urology, and neonatology.

The pediatric colorectal surgery fellowship will teach the fellow the indications for surgery, preoperative evaluation and management, intraoperative skills, and post-operative management. Since we are a referral center for congenital colorectal conditions, the fellow will also be exposed to the long-term management of sequela as well as bowel management.
