Resident Research Fellowship – Abdominal Wall Reconstruction, Minimally Invasive Surgery

This will be a paid, full-time position in the lab of renowned academic surgeon Dr. B. Todd Heniford. The research fellow will mostly be performing clinical outcomes research (in AWR/MIS) but will also participate in randomized controlled trials and research focusing on artificial intelligence and deep learning. The expectation will be that the fellow is in charge of the all ongoing projects and runs the weekly lab meetings. During the course of a typical academic year, the typical productivity in the lab ranges from 10-15 publications and often much more. Any travel expenses for conferences or research presentations will also be paid for.

Prerequisites:

The resident should be in good standing at his or her respective program. Ideally, the resident will be completely their PGY2/PGY3 clinical year and have passed all USMLE Step exams.
