The pediatric residency program at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, is accepting applications for one PGY-2 or PGY-3 position beginning in July 2021.
We are a community-based program affiliated with the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and thereby combine the best of two worlds: Our residents train at Wesley Children’s Hospital, a tertiary care facility with a wide catchment area as the only children’s hospital in the region, combined with the numerous resources available through the university.
Starting in the first year and continuing throughout the remainder of their residency, residents care for their own personal panel of patients in continuity clinic. Residents rotate through our 15-bed PICU starting in their first year of residency and care for critically ill children under the guidance of 24/7 in-house intensivists. Our residents gain valuable experience in neonatal care under the supervision of our 24/7 in-house neonatologists as they care for some of the nearly 6,000 babies delivered annually at Wesley Medical Center. Additionally, residents care for hospitalized children under the guidance of our pediatric hospitalists in the recently renovated Wesley Children’s Hospital. Our faculty is an incredible group of pediatricians who are committed to exceptional and innovative work in patient care, scholarship and advocacy as well as training and investing in the next generation of pediatricians.
