General Surgery Residency-Preliminary Position

The University of California, Irvine General Surgery Residency Program, has an opening for a PGY-2 Preliminary resident position to begin on June 14, 2021 with a clinical start date of June 23, 2021.

Prerequisites:

Applicants must have completed a PGY-1 surgical year in good standing at an ACGME-accredited program by the anticipated start date.

How To Apply:

Submit the following:

1. Current Curriculum Vitae;
2. Personal Statement;
3. Medical School Diploma;
4. Medical School Transcript;
5. MSPE (Dean's letter);
6. USMLE Step Scores;
7. 3 Letters of Recommendation, one of which from your current Program Director;
8. ACLS certificate;
9. Citizenship/visa status (we can only consider J1 visas);
10. Valid ECFMG certificate (if applicable);
11. ABSITE transcript for all years completed;
12. ACGME Defined Category Operative Report to date;
13. Annual competency-based Summative Evaluation(s) from Program(s) for PGY-1 year of training;
14. List of completed rotations for all years of training.

Please note that the Medical Board of CA now mandates a Postgraduate Training License.
