Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell offers a one-year Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Staten Island University Hospital, which is an ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center and a regional Burn Center.

This fellowship will focus on training in our surgical intensive care unit while also offering experience in the cardiothoracic, burn and medical intensive care units. The daily census in each respective unit is 10 to 15 patients on average. There are four faculty in the departments of trauma, acute care surgery and surgical critical care who together assume educational and supervisory responsibilities for the fellow.

Prerequisites:

  • Applicants must have completed or anticipate completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in general surgery prior to initiation of the fellowship.
  • Applicants must be board eligible or board certified and have a New York state license prior to initiation of fellowship.
