Medical Microbiology Fellowship

The Medical Microbiology Fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is 1-year ACGME-accredited program designed to train a diverse group of Pathologists and Infectious Diseases specialists to become the next generation of leaders in the field.

Fellows receive comprehensive training in all aspects of Medical Microbiology through daily rounds, bench rotations, clinical consultations, didactics, and real-world experience in laboratory directorship. They also engage in research and educational activities in preparation for a career in academic medicine. As one of the nations' premier medical centers, fellows provide care for patients from across the New York Metropolitan region and around the world, thereby affording the opportunity to gain clinical experience with both common and rare infectious diseases that affect diverse patient populations, including immigrants, travelers, transplant recipients, pediatrics, oncology and surgical patients.

Prerequisites:

Pathology candidates must have completed a CP or AP/CP residency program. Infectious Diseases candidates must have completed an Infectious Diseases fellowship program.
