The Independent Plastic Surgery Program at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center is seeking an applicant for an open Independent Plastic Surgery Resident position available July 1, 2020.
The DMC is the largest healthcare provider in southeast Michigan with more than 2,000 licensed beds and 3,000 affiliated physicians. Our residents have the benefit of interacting with many of our medical experts, who are nationally recognized with a reputation for excellence that draws patients to many world-class programs. The DMC is also the leading academically integrated system in the metropolitan Detroit region.
The DMC and other affiliated rotation sites serve a diverse socioeconomic demographic including urban and suburban patient populations as well as United States Veterans. The DMC serves as an essential referral network for the southeastern Michigan region. Residents care for patients at multiple level one trauma centers as well as an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center. The Detroit Medical Center has academic affiliation both with Wayne State University School of Medicine & Michigan State University"™s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Eligible applicants must have completed 5 years of general surgery sufficient to qualify for ABS certification. Alternative pathways for prerequisite training include vascular surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedic surgery, otolaryngology, thoracic surgery, urology or via OMFS training.
