Blood and Marrow Transplant Fellowship

The one-year Blood and Marrow Transplant Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida, is designed for physicians who have completed an accredited Hematology, Oncology, or Hematology/Oncology fellowship. The fellowship offers:

  • Preparation for a successful career in blood and marrow transplantation in a group practice or academic center
  • In-depth exposure to multidisciplinary approaches to hematologic diseases from the blood and marrow transplantation perspective
  • Exciting research opportunities in the field of blood and marrow transplantation

As a Mayo Clinic Blood and Marrow Transplant fellow, you have access to clinical training in the inpatient and outpatient setting and exposure to the treatment of a large variety of hematologic malignancies and benign blood disorders. Many staff hematologists serve as faculty, offering a rich diversity of clinical expertise.

Prerequisites:

To be eligible for the Blood and Marrow Transplant Fellowship, you must have successfully completed accredited training in internal medicine and hematology or oncology. You must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or foreign national who has or qualifies for appropriate visa sponsorship.

How To Apply:

All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education residencies and fellowships must include the required materials listed below. All materials should be submitted to the fellowship’s education program coordinator Sandy Ventro at [email protected] prior to Nov. 30, 2021.

Required materials

  1. Curriculum vitae
    • Describe your activities with professional societies, publications, and any other relevant information about your education or experience.
  2. Personal statement of professional goals
  3. Copy of diploma from your medical school, graduate school, and/or dental school
  4. Official test transcripts for all applicable examinations
    • USMLE, LMCC, COMLEX, NBOME, FMGEMS, FLEX, or NBME. Scanned copies are acceptable for Recruit. If you receive an appointment, official copies will be requested.
  5. Valid ECFMG certificate required if you graduated from a medical school outside the U.S. or Canada.
  6. Two original letters of recommendation; letters from physicians or faculty members who are thoroughly familiar with your work. If you have had prior residency training, ask your program director for a letter of recommendation. Each letter should include the writer's opinion of your professional, academic, and personal qualifications, as well as an opinion of your potential success in the field for which you are applying. Postdoctoral fellowship applications should have one of these letters from your thesis adviser.
  7. Copy of completion certificate from each of your prior residency and fellowship training programs.

Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty.
