Clinical Speech Language Pathology Fellowship

Clinical Speech Language Pathology Fellowship

The UAB Voice Center is an inter-professional center staffed by highly-skilled and experienced voice, airway, swallowing, and head and neck specialized speech-language pathologists. The center also includes a fellowship-trained laryngologist and an M.D., Ph.D. laryngology fellow. The state of the art center is a part of the UAB Department of Otolaryngology. The department has a long history of providing outstanding care to patients with head and neck cancer, facial plastics, otologic, rhinologic, and audiologic concerns.

The center will provide fellows with comprehensive exposure to the full cadre of voice, airway, head and neck disorders, and swallowing disorders including behavioral, medical and surgical management. The fellow will be mentored by voice specialized speech-language pathologist, Dr. Edie Hapner and voice specialized laryngologist, Dr. C. Blake Simpson, both of whom have developed successful mentorship programs for the past 16 years at three other academic medical institutions in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and San Antonio.
