Clinical Neurophysiology, Electroencephalography, Epilepsy Fellowship

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, offers a one-year Clinical Neurophysiology, Electroencephalography (EEG), Epilepsy Fellowship Program to prepare you to establish and supervise an epilepsy program and EEG laboratory.

During the fellowship, there is a strong emphasis on EEG of seizure disorders. You will be exposed to a variety of seizure problems, the monitoring techniques used to evaluate patients with seizure disorders - including prolonged monitoring and ambulatory monitoring - and techniques used for recording during surgery.

You will also see and interpret EEGs with a wide variety of other patterns during the EEG rotation. Training in Siscom utilization and brain mapping is also included during the EEG rotation.

Prerequisites:

To apply to the Clinical Neurophysiology, EEG, Epilepsy Fellowship Program, you must have completed an accredited residency program in neurology or physical medicine in the United States or Canada.

Applicants also must be qualified to take the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Certifying Examination.

Fellowship appointees are required to obtain and maintain an appropriate medical license while enrolled in the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

Mayo's academic year begins in July. You must submit a completed application form and all required documentation no later than March 1 the previous year.

  • A letter of recommendation from your residency program director or the department chair. This must be completed in the Recommendation Request section. The recommender will receive an email with a link to upload a letter.
