Acute Care Surgery Fellowship

Acute Care Surgery Fellowship

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Regional One Health offer a AAST-accredited Acute Care Surgery Fellowship.

The 2nd year ACS fellow will integrate into the attending call schedule, cover trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery, staffing a resident teaching clinic and providing other didactic educational services to medical students and residents, and fellows. The ACS fellow will rotate in vascular/cardiac surgery for two months, and have the opportunity for 2 additional elective months if desired. Clinical research opportunities are abundant.

EPTC is the only Level One Center in the Mid-South and one of the busiest trauma centers in the country with ~ 30% penetrating trauma. The trauma service admits ~ 5000 patients per year. Operative trauma cases are high, fellows perform several hundred operations, including vascular, thoracic, and cardiac procedures.
