General Surgery Residency-Preliminary Position

The University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville will have two PGY-2 preliminary positions available for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Our preliminary residents participate fully in our academic surgical curriculum, including didactics, simulation training, and skills training. We offer the the opportunity to take the ABSITE, and provide extensive career counseling, including having a designated Assistant Program Director for Preliminary Residents. The typical rotation schedule includes trauma, ICU, general surgery, breast surgery, and surgical oncology, and electives are sometimes possible, depending on the candidate interest.
