Neurocritical Care Fellowship

Neurocritical Care Fellowship

The Neurocritical Care Fellowship in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine provides trainees high exposure to trauma and neurovascular disorders, including aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and intracerebral hemorrhage.

The unit is managed between neurosurgeons, critical care physicians, and trauma/critical care surgeons. Participating fellows have significant opportunity for clinical research in this one-year fellowship program.

IU Health Methodist Hospital, one of three Level 1 adult trauma centers in Indiana, houses one of the largest Neurocritical Care Units in the country, covering the entire spectrum of neurological disorders. Physicians who staff the unit are CAST-certified in Neurocritical Care. Neurosurgeons commonly consult on adult and pediatric patients suffering from a traumatic injury, such as those with traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injuries.
