Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Section of Colo-rectal Surgery is accepting applications for the position of Clinical Research Fellow. We are a group of seven colorectal surgeons actively engaged in a wide range of health services, clinical and translational research.

Fellows will receive close mentorship from faculty and learn statistical methods with access to a full-time biostatistician and other resources available through the School of Medicine and School of Public Health. There are a wide array of clinical research opportunities including inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, colorectal cancer, quality and safety, and simulation and education. This is a full time, one year position. There are no clinical responsibilities as part of this fellowship.

The position will focus on all aspects of health services, clinical and translational research including:

  • Study Design
  • Data Collection
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Manuscript and Grant Writing Qualifications: At least one year experience with clinical research.

This includes IRB submission, data collection, basic statistical analysis, and manuscript writing.

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • MD degree preferred.
